In my dream I was the best dancer, halls of people would stop and watch from the side at our restless steps. You were a famous black singer and dancer that everybody loved, more like Nina Simone, not like Beyonce. These were our first performances together and somehow miraculously I had not met you before. Nothing rehearsed. All improvised. At some point in my dream I was bald like I am and wearing an Annie Lennox little red dress (like this, only on red) like I am not.
The other night, the night before as it were, I was floating on a rug like raft on a calm, on a beautifully calm and clear tropical sea. All of the sudden my “boat” started to wave like there was no tomorrow and anything I’d do just made it worse and I was so afraid of the water.
